Gemini

Gemini is a reimplementation of Spiderweb Software’s Blades of Exile, using Pygmalion as an engine. The initial release, slated for October 2007, will be a proof-of-concept with a fully-developed Pygmalion engine (and BoE-based ruleset), a converter to create Pygmalion/Gemini scenarios from Blades EXS files, and a fully functional player.

There will not be a scenario editor in the first version of Gemini, although I plan on implementing one. It will be distributed as a standalone package, and will use most of the Pygmalion architecture. However, the frontend will be a specially-developed application made to simulate Blades, not the full-fledged Pygmalion Player application.

In essence, Gemini will serve as a technology demo for Pygmalion, as well as a way to get a large number of playable scenarios up front.
